When
you visit Vermillion Galleries this fall, take a moment to enjoy the
unique panels created by Jack Haines depicting the historical highlights
of fly fishing in America.
Jack’s
watercolor illustrations and text are the result of his interest in the
growth of our sport in this country. Jack grew up in Minneapolis and has
always been interested in fly fishing, art and the varied literature of
fly fishing.
Jack received
a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a minor in art from the
University of Minnesota. As a youth he fished city lakes, and eventually
found his way to fly fishing. Fly fishing, old fishing books and
watercolor painting are passions he will admit to.
.
After a career in advertising
as a copywriter and a long stint with the Star-Tribune’s Promotion
Department, Jack retired in 1990. He has since been a mentor and coach
to several beginning fly fishers and has participating in many fly
fishing schools and clinics.
Jack continues to live in Minneapolis and fishes Wisconsin trout rivers as often as possible. |
